As COVID continues to confine us to our homes, there seems to have been a swift uptake in reading, and bookclubs continue to flourish. Though meetings are online and may initially include a little tech troubleshooting, they can be just as engaging and social.
In October, the St. Gabriel’s Book Club chose to read The Dime Box. I was humbled to join them via Zoom to share the novel’s context, to do a reading and to participate in their conversation around equity, gender-based violence, resilience and the lived experiences of youth.
As an author, any opportunity to join readers makes my heart soar!
Thanks to St Gabriel’s for having me.
